If you’re trying to save your Connections streak and keep your high scores rolling, we’re here to help. There are some tricky word combinations in today’s puzzle, along with a category that requires some specific cultural knowledge. Those two things together can sometimes create a difficult puzzle that is hard to salvage if you get stuck on one category.
If you like Connections, there are a lot of other daily puzzle games that give a similar amount of challenge and wordplay. One of these games is Spelling Bee, which is also put out by NYT and involves trying to come up with as many words as possible that can be made from the letters in the puzzle. These letters are aesthetically located in small hexagonal honeycombs, making for a challenging but soothing experience.

Some of these things are true offline as well, but that makes this category a little easier to solve than the others. All of these words have to do with something you LIKE, and so you want to save them for a time when you can digest it properly. This is true to the regular world as well, as I do tend to SAVE up my favorite ice cream for when I can take the time to nurture it.

This one was a little confusing, if only because I read SAKE as a drink and not as the more normal and common word. I blame this on my puzzle having it right next to PEPSI, although that is just an excuse. In reality, it would have been much more to my BENEFIT if I had shuffled the words up a little to look at it more properly.

This one is going to be harder if you are not invested heavily into NBA lore. While you may have heard one or two of them more frequently, some of them you might have only heard in passing if you are not in a sports family.
Granted, I have heard of all of these at least enough for it to ring a bell and I am the least invested into sports you could be, but I would think if you can put at least two of these words together, you can likely solve the category.

This one also depends on your knowledge of the Greek alphabet and how each letter is spelled. It’s a bit odd because the English alphabet does not really spell out any letters, not frequently anyway, so many might not spell out other alphabets either. Hopefully, you came across enough references to recognize some of these, like in sororities/fraternities or military terminology.
